This half-day experience is built around one of Da Lat's most beloved local rituals: săn mây, or 'cloud hunting.' Starting well before dawn, guests are picked up from their accommodation and driven — or escorted by motorbike — to a hilltop vantage point above the city, typically in the Cau Dat area roughly 23 km from central Da Lat. Sitting at around 1,650 meters above sea level, Cau Dat Tea Hill is famed for its century-old tea plantations and panoramic views over cloud-filled valleys. As the sky lightens, layers of mist roll in from the surrounding mountains, creating a surreal sea of clouds beneath your feet. A guide leads the group to the best photo positions, points out landmarks as the sun rises, and often provides hot coffee or artichoke tea to ward off the highland chill. After the sunrise, the tour typically continues with scenic stops — wind turbines, flower farms, local gardens — before wrapping up with a traditional Da Lat breakfast, arriving back in town by around 10:00 AM.
