What it is

Opened in June 2023, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter spans roughly 30,000 square meters of indoor space in Nerima Ward, on the site of the former Toshimaen amusement park. Unlike a theme park, this is a self-guided walk-through studio experience focused on the filmmaking craft behind all eight Harry Potter films. Guests move at their own pace through meticulously recreated sets, original props, and costumes, learning how iconic scenes were actually made. Highlights include a full-scale Great Hall, a walk-through Diagon Alley built using the same techniques as the original movie set, the shadowy Forbidden Forest with Buckbeak, and a replica Hogwarts Express at Platform 9¾. Interactive green-screen activities, the world's largest Butterbeer bar, a Great Hall-style Food Hall, and one of the world's largest Harry Potter merchandise stores round out the experience. Timed-entry tickets are required, and most visitors spend four to six hours on site.

Highlights

• Ministry of Magic Atrium — unique to the Tokyo location, this grand interior features towering fireplaces representing the Floo Network, allowing for memorable photo opportunities.
• World's Largest Butterbeer Bar — guests can sample the signature wizarding drink (non-alcoholic) in a dedicated bar space; the Food Hall nearby is styled to evoke the Great Hall atmosphere with long tables and floating candle decor.

Good to know

• Plan for 4–6 hours on site; the tour covers a large indoor area and there's no shortage of interactive activities, photo spots, and exhibits to linger over — rushing through in under 3 hours means missing a lot.
• Timed-entry tickets must be booked in advance online through the official website or authorized resellers; popular time slots — especially weekends, school holidays, and cherry blossom season — can sell out weeks ahead, so book early.
• Getting there: from Ikebukuro Station, take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line to Toshimaen Station (roughly 15 minutes); alternatively, take the Toei Oedo Line from Shinjuku direction to Toshimaen Station (around 20 minutes). The venue is about a 2-minute walk from the station exit.
• The ticket typically covers general admission to all sets, exhibits, interactive experiences (such as green-screen Quidditch and the Floo Network), and access to the Great Hall Food Hall and Butterbeer Bar — food and beverages are purchased separately.
• Arrive 20–30 minutes before your reserved time slot; late arrivals may not be guaranteed entry. Wear comfortable shoes — the attraction covers a large indoor area.
• Photography and video are permitted in most areas. Some premium interactive add-ons (such as the broomstick flying photo experience) carry an additional cost. A seasonal limited-time event runs approximately March–September 2026, adding extra immersive activities themed around Harry's arrival at Hogwarts.
