What it is

Harukas 300 is the three-floor observatory crowning Abeno Harukas, the 300-meter skyscraper that holds the title of Japan's tallest building. Located directly above Kintetsu Osaka-Abenobashi Station and Tennoji Station in Osaka's Abeno district, the observatory spans floors 58 through 60. The 60th floor (arrival floor) is an all-glass enclosed gallery where floor-to-ceiling windows and a section of glass flooring create the sensation of walking in mid-air above the Osaka plain. The 58th floor opens up to a roofless outdoor wooden deck — a sky garden bathed in open air — plus a cafe-restaurant where visitors can eat and drink with sweeping skyline views. The 59th floor hosts the souvenir shop. On a clear day, the panorama extends east to Mount Ikoma and Mount Yoshino, west across Osaka Bay to Awaji Island and the Seto Inland Sea, and north toward Kyoto. At night the glittering cityscape and a nightly exterior light show (on the hour from early evening) make Harukas 300 one of Osaka's most iconic after-dark destinations.
